Campbell Green gives back

Premature babies at the Echuca Regional Health, Maternity Department will be the recipients of much-needed life-saving equipment thanks to Campbell Green.

Owner and General Manager Emily Wockner had her own baby just eight months ago says it helped her appreciate how much need there was for equipment such as this.

“Aggie was born by emergency C-section and thank goodness she was healthy. We are so grateful for that,” Mrs Wockner said.

“But there are thousands of babies born every year that aren’t so lucky and that’s why we made this donation.”

The equipment was donated through the Humpty Dumpty Foundation, which purchases essential and often life-saving medical equipment for sick and injured children in Paediatric Wards, Neonatal Units, Maternity and Emergency Departments in hospitals across Australia.

Campbell Green purchased a RAD-5 Pulse Oximeter with sensor, which provides an accurate measurement of a pulse rate, oxygen saturation and blood flow.  This is essential in assessing the current status and treatment implications for paediatric patients.

“When I was going through the later stage of pregnancy, I heard all of these horror stories … there’s a lot of unfortunate babies out there and this charity is very close to our hearts. We are so grateful Aggie is healthy,” she said of the latest addition to the Campbell Green family.

Mrs Wockner and her husband, Campbell Green owner and director Craig, were made aware of the need for the life-saving equipment by a guest speaker during an education and development day put on by their licensee The Advice Exchange.

“The speaker discussed the Foundation, what they do and why it’s so important – it’s a great charity.

“Anything you purchase goes straight to the hospital and we like that idea because there are a lot of charities where they spend 30 cents or more for every donated dollar on things like overheads, administrative costs, and fundraising.

A plaque will be erected at the hospital on behalf of Campbell Green.
